The Eastern Caribbean Civil Aviation Authority (ECCAA) successfully hosted its First Legal Seminar on Emerging Legal Frameworks in Civil Aviation on 13–14 November 2025 in Antigua and Barbuda. This inaugural event brought together regulators, legal experts, policymakers, operators, and international partners for two days of focused dialogue on strengthening aviation governance across the Eastern Caribbean.
Presenters from ICAO, ACI-LAC, IATA, Canada, Costa Rica, Barbados, ASSI (UK Overseas Territories), and industry organizations such as American Airlines and Thales delivered sessions on international air law, regional regulation harmonization, accident investigation obligations, aerodrome certification, air services agreements, RPAS/BVLOS regulation, aviation security, and passenger rights.
The seminar also featured panel discussions on Air Services Agreements and Drones/RPAS & Airspace Integration, providing practical insights for ECCAA participating states.
ECCAA extends its appreciation to all speakers and participants for contributing to this milestone event in advancing aviation safety, compliance, and legal harmonization in the region.
