Senior and middle management personnel responsible for aviation security, information and communications technology, airport operations, aircraft operations, air navigation services, regulatory oversight, risk assessment and risk management, as well as other personnel whose responsibilities contribute to the protection of critical civil aviation infrastructure.
The workshop is designed to assist States in meeting the requirements of ICAO Annex 17 – Security, Standard 4.9, which requires Contracting States to identify critical information and communications technology (ICT) systems, data used for civil aviation purposes, develop and implement measures to protect them from acts of unlawful interference.
The objective of the workshop is to strengthen aviation security capacity within the participating States by enhancing participants' understanding of aviation cybersecurity, cyber risk management and the interrelationship between physical and cyber threats within the civil aviation environment.
Participants will be exposed to the identification of cyber threats and vulnerabilities, the motives and methods of cyber‑attacks and practical approaches for managing and mitigating cyber‑related risks. Upon completion of the workshop, participants should be prepared to conduct a cyber risk assessment and develop an appropriate risk management plan to address cyber threats affecting civil aviation operations.
