Personnel responsible for aviation security from civil aviation authorities, airport operators, airlines, air navigation service providers, customs and border agencies, law enforcement organizations, and other entities involved in the protection of critical civil aviation infrastructure.
The workshop is designed to assist States in meeting requirements of ICAO Annex 17 (Aviation Security) to the Chicago Convention, which provides standards and recommended practices for safeguarding international civil aviation against acts of unlawful interference.
The objective of this workshop is to strengthen aviation security capacity by enhancing participants’ understanding and application of aviation security risk management principles and practices, including the integration of risk management into aviation security oversight and decision-making processes.
This workshop will equip participants with the knowledge and skills to identify, assess, evaluate, and mitigate aviation security risks at the strategic, operational, and tactical levels. Participants will examine threats to civil aviation, risk assessment methodologies, and internationally recognized standards and frameworks, and explore Canada’s modernized framework for identifying, assessing, and managing aviation security risks, including its application to policy, oversight, and program planning.
